Friction Experiments (with accler.)

Block, card to motion detector A card is affixed to a wooden block. The card faces the motion detector located near end of table. Felt may be included on the undersurface, when a more consistent, smother friction is desired.

In the 1st investigation, the block is not attached, but rather it is pushed and then allowed to stop.  The friction slows it, as approaches the detector.

          Next photos show pulley arrangement.

Force by hanging wts

In the 2nd investigation, a force is supplied via string over a pulley to a hanging weight. The total mass, is computed by ALL moving mass in the system subject to acceleration.
