Music Libraries

Because of the copyright complications of using popular music for audio/visual productions, several companies have made a business out of marketing and selling production music for the express purpose of meeting the needs of audio visual producers. Film production companies, TV networks, video production companies and individual producers all have occasions that require music, but perhaps do not warrant the expense of having original music written and performed. KTSC-TV has purchased several buy-out music libraries for use on-air. The fact that they are buy-out libraries means that once they are purchased, they can be used as often as we like without incurring a per-usage fee for each use. The libraries that we own include: Music Bakery, River City, and Fresh. Printed indexes which provide descriptions of the available music are available at KTSC-TV. However, to fully understand the breadth of music offered, take some time to sit down with headphone and sample some of the music from each library. You'll find an amazing variety, and some of it is actually usable!
