CSU-Pueblo Television Production Handbook
The TV Production Handbook was compiled as a companion reference for students
in the Television Broadcasting sequence of the Mass Communications department
& Center for New Media at the Colorado
State University - Pueblo , in Pueblo, Colorado. The following documents
are specific to the laboratory equipment and experiences that students at CSU-Pueblo
will encounter. Public Television affiliate KTSC-TV is located on the campus
of the University and provides opportunities for students in the broadcasting
sequence. Following are links to documents for students enrolled in MCCNM 142
, MCCNM 350, MCCNM 491 and other courses involving television production.
Introduction to the Handbook
The purpose of this reference is to provide a single source for information about the technology (hardware), resources (software), and techniques that you will be utilizing as you take courses within the Broadcasting sequence. But this is just the beginning. Updates and additional materials will be posted to this site as you progress though the production sequence.
As you know, CSU-Pueblo's Mass Communications department is privileged to have its own FM radio station, KTSC-FM, and an excellent working relationship with the local PBS affiliate KTSC-TV. While this handbook will focus on television production, some of the areas, e.g. audio production, will also be applicable to those participating in the operation of the FM radio station.
This workbook is not intended to replace traditional textbooks, but rather to supplement them with material specific to our facilities.
Special thanks to Dr. Harry Sova for his inspiration for this project, and
for the home-made sound effects glossary.
