QuickTime VR

QuickTime VR is a very handy and basic form of virtual reality that allows for people to travel through three-dimensional places using nothing more than their mouse.  With a few simple clicks, one can travel through the various rooms of the Great Pyramid, venture down old corridors of some ancient French Chateau, or even allow for perspective homebuyers to view the insides of a possible new home while never leaving the comfort of their computer station.  QuickTime is a software package that is patented by Apple Computers and presently is available on the market to all who wish to buy it.

The program allows for a series of pictures to be organized in such a way that by clicking on certain places within the frame, a panoramic view of any given place can be seen.  While the QuickTime doesn’t actually embrace a full-fledged three-dimensional feel to its program, it does situate two-dimensional photos in such a way that traveling through QuickTime VR space qualifies as an actual virtual reality experience.  The benefit of QuickTime is that it allows for more kinesthetic interaction within the confines of cyberspace; Apart from just allowing people to travel through various places inside their computer, QuickTime VR allows for a very hands-on sort of educational experience.  In schools QuickTime is being used to show students everything from the inside of ancient buildings to allowing dissection of animals without ever cutting anything (this will prove a God-send for those with week stomachs).
